Hi,
I think it would be great to change the thumbnails system in Resolume.
I have a lot of loops who are starting from black color... So I can't see them in Resolume, I have to look at the name (right click) before send a loop to a layer...
I think it is a very important things to correct in the future version.
Thanx !!!

I actually run the same way. Many of my looped clips (particle effects etc) start from black, so it's hard to tell what's what in the heat of a show. I suppose choosing the thumbnail frame would add a bit of extra work to setting up decks, but maybe even a choice to use the middle frame of the clip as thumbnail would make things a little easier.

in some cases, I have resolved this by actually editing my clips,
splicing in down the middle where images are seen moving,
then joining the 2 pieces in reverse order.
most my clips are looping so it doesnt really matter where they start.
its a bit of a work around but whislt the Res feature is implemeted
this solution works for me.

That will of course work for some clips, but a lot of my stuff I use as single trigger samples rather than loops, I've also got clips which start out the same and end differently, so when they're in the deck they all look exactly the same. I get around this by setting up clip order in my decks logically, but this does mean that I have quite a lot of decks filled with 20 black thumbnails, not the most user-friendly display method

Maybe easier than changing the thumbnail might be an option to have the filenames displayed underneath the thumbnail, so it's possible to see what the clip is at a glance.

i suggested some time ago.. some type of animated gif kind of thumbnail, so that you see a short loop of maybe 4 frames that loop endlessly....
i have a similar problem... i have clips that start almost the same and then come some kind of different effects to it...

maybe just add the name over the thumbnail
