Hi all,
Kat and I are heading off in about a month on our (ha ha) "World Tour". Any gigs you can suggest that tie in with any of our destinations would be muchly appreciated:
* Singapore 5-8 May
* Seville 9-17 May (Lux2006)
* Barcelona 17-20 May
* New York 20-28 May (Eyewash)
* San Francisco 28 May - 5 Jun
* Auckland 7-9 Jun
Look forward to meeting local VJs and AV artists along the way too - we've already had invitations to visit some VJs' studios
We've had this idea, to start shooting as soon as we leave airport, check into hotel and process footage and then do a gig that night showing our First Impressions of the city. We like to set ourselves little challenges... A continuation of our 'Views From a Moving Vehicle' series, in strange cities. We've found in the past that some of our favourite footage has been when travelling - I guess it's hard to look at your own city as an enthusiastic newcomer. I know taxi drivers will just take us to cliched tourist spots, but we can work with that, and research locations before we get there.
Our only disappointment so far was that we couldn't get tickets to the Daily Show studio audience for the week we're in NY. Ah well! Don't suppose anyone can help pull some strings there?
Any advice about any of our destinations appreciated too. You can contact us from our myspace (http://myspace.com/vjzoocom) or our site (vjzoo.com).
If anyone's ever in Western Australia, we're happy to reciprocate the hospitality - eg VJ Mo Selle from Singapore is hopefully coming over for our Painting With Light workshop in July - yay!
