Hi folks,
I´m quite new at Resolume (downloaded the trial version) and I´m trying to output the video through the svhs or vga outputs in my videocard (a Geforce MX 4000). Sorry for the dumb question, but do I have to configure the output on my videocard or Windows XP or also in Resolume, for example, for layer 1 be on the svhs output, layer 2 on vga output, etc?

The very basic... if you can help me, I´d aprecciate that.

You need to configure your graphics card to be outputting 2 desktops, the geforce cards call it "dualview". Different cards have different capabilities, many cards will have 2 VGA outputs and one s-video output.
Once you have told graphics card to output 2 desktops resolume will detect your setup. clicking on the "screen setup" in resolume u should see 2 blocks, most people have output 1 one as interface with preview and output2 as fullscreen - by default this should be layers 1,2,3 and effects, you dont have to set it, although you can by clicking on advanced.

So basically: configure your graphics card to 2 desktops in windows first, then let resolume do the rest.

with normal graphic cards, you have to decide, vga or svhs. 3 outputs are not possible.

I did the dualview setup and it went ok (I connected the svhs output of my graphicscard to a dvcamera, just for testing), but the thing is: the image is in black & white. I tried other TV systems for the output (NTSC and PAL) and it continued black & white, so I guess it´s a svhs cable problem... is that correct?

Yeah I had that prob, changed the cable and it worked fine.

are you using a laptop with integrated graphiccard ? look into the bios, maybe you can choose between s-vhs and av.

nope, thats a PC with geforce mx 4000 with only a vga output and a svhs output. Once the vga is for the PC monitor, the only output avaliable is svhs... But the stranger is: when I start windows, the windows logo appears in full color in the svhs output, but when the desktop starts, everything goes b&w...

You probably use a cable to convert from cinch out or your comp to the s-vhs in of your camera (or other way around).
But it is not possible to convert the color information only by a cable, some electronics are required. Graphic cards are usually delivered only with those simple cables loosing the color.
