I have been using resolume for a while now, and I can't seem to get the FFT input to work.

I use a EMU sound card, and it shows up in the program for the audio input, but I get no levels.

any suggestions?

For the audio analyzer in Resolume to work properly you need to have your audio device and volumes setup correctly. To do this open the 'Sounds and Audio Devices' in the Control Panel. then on the Audio tab select the correct default device for sound recording. Then click on the 'Volume..' button to set the volumes of the recording device. Now select the source for the audio that you want resolume to analyse and set it,s volume to maximum. If you do not know what source you need or you need multiple sources then it's safe to just select 'Stereo Mix' and set that volume to maximum.

I want to scratch a video to the beat with fft.
Now I have everything set ok, and the visuals are responding to the sound.. but it doesn't scratch to a beat..the only thing I see is the visuals getting darm or bright.
Is there something I do wrong? I use Resolume 2.3

you're probably animating the layer opacity instead of the playhead.
Check out the right button in here

I had the same problem with my e-mu card. The solution is to insert a send on channel your music is playing on ( from media player the wave channel, from external input an asio channel). If your playing back music from the hard drive then insert a send to the wave channel on the e-mu's wave channel. Because the e-mu cards software is seperate to the computers on board sound channel you have to tell the patchmix software to send the sound back into the computer not just from media player to the outputs. The same applies to asio channels simply insert a send to the wave channel.
