breaks during browsing

when i use all decks full loaded, sometimes i get while browsing in the clip filebrowser, or in the deckbrowser, breaks in the playback output.
another different situation is the playback from the external harddisk. i have a new laptop, with more ram, 2 gigabyte insteat of 512 MB before. before on the old system, the harddisc was always running, very fast playback of clips on triggering. now with more ram, after a while using the same deck and clips, the harddisc take a rest, because everything is stored in the ram. if i change now the deck, or play a new clip, i have to wait for harddisc circeling around again. its just a second or 2. but i dont like it.
does anybody know a solution ?

I'm not sure if it's a spinning down problem, I've been trying to trouble shoot this.
Usually if I'm running 3 layers with effects changing decks will max out the cpu for a moment as resolume builds the thumbnails to screen.
2.3 seemed to be a little bit better at loading all your active decks into memory when you started. Sometimes I had to manually click through every deck to make sure all the thumbnails had loaded to avoid this 1 second stop between decks.
With 2.4 it seems I always have to click through all the active decks to reduce this, it seems to be the only thing that helps a little apart from clearing out one layer before swapping decks to reduce the cpu load.
Other things to try-
-Turn your power management to off for everything.
-SP2 introduced a setting on external drives "Optimize for quick removal" to be on by default, you want to turn it to "Optimize for performance" this enables write caching. just right click the disk in device manager - properties.... you will find it.

If you work it out please tell me what you did!

hi,
i am using the resolume 2.4 beta demo version at the moment,
thinking about changing from flowmotion to resolume.
I have the same problem with my
clevo d900t 3,5 gh 2gb ram
two harddisks
50gb 5400
100gb 7200 vor video
i have not found any solution for the hickup then changing clips.
it is no problem if you change the clips very fast, but if you wait for some time before changing.
