Programmable Keyboard

I just bought an X-Keys Professional 58 key programmable keyboard for use with Resolume. Unfortunately, I can't customize nearly as much with my new x-keys as the options simply aren't there in the keyboard mapping preferences... Would it be possible to extend the midi key mapping options to the keyboard as well? Just in case someone does want 1 key to toggle direction on layer 1, another key for layer 2, and so on... I shouldn't imagine this would be too difficult to implement...?

wow. This x-keys i bought is turning out to be completely useless in resolume. It has a natural layout for resolume when i turn it sideways - i even printed out all the labels i needed for i wanted it mapped - and i can't do it. The things i want it to do simply aren't options on the keyboard mapping. It is not a midi device, but is perfect for resolume - if i could get the same options for keyboard mapping as for midi mapping.
please please please please - more keyboard mapping options...

yet another reason i need more keyboard mapping options...
i have a remote that came with my mobo, and it has customizable buttons - up to 16... this would be great if for some reason i need to do something from the bar while getting my beer

Hey Nexus does the x keys work for selecting clips 1-20 from the matrix tho? Would be very useful if it does, I know these are keyboard assignable but it would be nice to have a dedicated interface for triggering clips.

yes it does work for these, and i have it programmed as such. But there are other functions i want to assign to other keys as well. The bank of 20 in the middle is perfect for the matrix of clips - but i want to be able to toggle rgb, toggle direction of specific layers, assign play mode functions (bpm, audio, play, random - only some of these are keyboard assignable), toggle layer opacity play functions (same as previous). I don't think it could be too difficult to extend the midi mapping to keyboard presets as well.

I heard about using the bome miditranslator with ableton to simulate keystrokes using a midi keyboard. Could this be used the other way round to translate keys to midi notes? Not ideal but a possible workaround.

That's not what this post is about. I can trigger clips fine from my custom keyboard (see pic above - it's too big so you have to right-click "view pic"). This post is arguing that keyboard mapping does not cover all the possibilities that midi mapping does. We want more keyboard mapping support...
