Some advice reqd. I have recently started using resolume 1.4 for vjing. I understand that you can use either a webcam or dv cam with this software. I have a sony vaio nv109m p4 1.6ghz running windows xp. I have tried to connect Sony Dv handycam and a Creative Pro ex webcam but each time it attempt to use the software or change decks it locks up the machine or makes the application unstable. Is this a driver issue? Have others experienced this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Merseyj0ker

I've tried using my panasonic dv cam, which works really well until it goes into power save mode, which locks up the pc resulting in a reboot. has anyone got any ideas how to rectify this? i'm using my firewire port as the connection due to the clarity being much higher than a normal web cam

The Logitech Quickcam Pro for Notebooks works for me (XP Pro). So do the Panasonic MX500 (via firewire, haven't tried the USB part as cable and software weren't in the hired pack) and various Sony DV cams. Given the standardization of firewire camera connectivity, I'd assume that just about every DV cam that works at all (i.e. with standard editors and without a special driver) will do with resolume where ilink/firewire is used for hookup.
At least the Panasonic MX500 doesn't go into power save, but rather into tape save mode. Which won't hangup my computer, but for VJ sets, you'd better unload the tape to keep the camera running for more than 10 minutes at a time...
