App not visible after restart

A few times recently after packing up after a gig and restarting Resolume at home I can't get to the app without a lot of faffing about, trying to move windows I can't see and generally getting annoyed.
Frequently when I shut down at the end of a gig, my work monitors and projectors are all still connected, maybe in power down mode, but still seen as displays by Windows.
Having got my PC back home and I start up Resolume without the projectors, it starts with just the output displays showing on my 2 monitors and the app seems to be running in the background somewhere. Using Alt-Tab to bring it to the front doesn't work, trying to switch to it from the task bar doesn't always work. It's quite annoying, I have managed to get to it somehow but it's messy and takes a few minutes to do this.
After a gig I'm usually in a state of jubilation mixed with being knackered and trying to remember anything beyond 'Power Off' doesn't happen, so trying to remember to turn off the output displays in Resolume before I shut down, so that starting up again will behave as it should, is not very likely.
