very long video

I'm going to be doing video for paul oakenfold on the 29th, and it's really nothing more than working with the material he gives me. The issue is, he does want me to do some mixing with his video, so i need to get it into resolume. it's 90 minutes long... i've got over 400Gb free hd on a raid 0 array i use, but didn't know how resolume would react to an indeo file this large. Is there a better format i could use for this particular job? i won't be jogging the video or anything, just mixing other stuff with it. Ideally i would just play it as a dvd with an edirol v-4 or something to mix in resolume, but i don't have one, so i'm compromising.

Hi NexusIntent!
I know that flash files borrow less places! You may convert your video to flash by
video to flash converter
for example .

converting it to flash video is not going to make it play better.
I this you need to split it up in smaller files and use those.

thanks bart - i know flash won't help. The problem is i'm not supposed to cut the video up. This is a "Perfecto Records" production, and the video is exactly as he wants it. Like i said ideally i want to play it straight off dvd, and mix with hardware - just not possible. I could plug a dvd player into one of my tv inputs, however this yields the interlaced effect - and using resolume to correct that isn't the best looking picture... i've done it before and it's acceptable in most circumstances, but not for this particular show.
I guess the biggest question is - will resolume play a 90 minute indeo file? I haven't encoded it yet as indeo takes forever, even on my new dream machine.

ive played a 30 min indeo 5.1 file in resolume, it worked fine, but i cant be sure that it stayed in sync. i didnt have a raid set up, but the video was 480x360 and the bitrate was about 320kb/s.

i've played more than 45 mn indeo 5.1 files without problems (in 2.4 beta) whith a resolution of 640x480, effects + two others video layers and works perfectly

Another option would be to record it in Long play mode over to a DV camera. From the DV camera you can play the movie straight into the mix with the live feed option and therefor mix it straight.

no that wouldn't work - i'd get the interlaced effect again, as covered above. Already solved this problem, but thanks anyway

Well i used the long video clip this weekend for the paul oakenfold show. About 13 minutes into it, resolume 2.4 final crashed. It had been running fine all night until then. Big problem... oakenfold's manager was not happy. Fortunately i was able to switch to a camera while i rebooted. Instead of risking another crash i was forced to just play back the clip with media player in full screen, and drop all the camera work.
