Recorded audio is different

I'm recording some audiovisual clips inside Resolume, and the audio sounds considerably different from the one I hear while recording.
The recorded audio has a lot more bass and sounds muffled.
Solutions?

There is probably either an effect on the clip you record, or one on the layer you play the recording with.

Yes, there is an effect on the audio clip. Does that not get recorded?

Even if that's the case, it sounds different to the audio without the effect on too.

If you record the composition, the effect would get also recorded.

Are you recording the composition clip or rendering the clip?

I am recording the composition.
The audio clip is on its own layer and there are other layers with visuals.
