Hi all,

Ive just got a new laptop (Sony Vaio AR21M - Sweet!) which is great, but unlike previous set ups it doesnt have composite video output, only VGA and S-Video. I really need comp video output, many nights I do require BNC to projector etc so need to convert my s-video signal to composite, which I cant work out how to do easily and reliably. I have a lead which goes from S-video to composite, but i get a black white picture !
Can anyone help !!?
Id imagine this is a common problem to laptop users..

:D

Thanks alot!!

you're on the right track. Use the lead that converts from s-video to composite... in your advanced monitor setup (depends on whether ati or nvidia) there is an option buried somewhere to tell your video that it is being converted to composite, and fix this b&w issue. Had that ages ago... honestly i'm surprised the projector doesn't have s-video in - that's pretty standard these days. There are also devices that can convert and splitConverter/splitter

I have a couple of these and they do great and both splitting and amplifying the signal, as well as converting s-video to composite or vice versa.

Hi,

Operating System: Windows XP professional sp2
Processor:Core 2 duo T7200
Videocard:Nvidia 7600 go

I have another problem, this my new laptop has a little problem the s-video to composite lead doesn´t work when i try to connect. If i use s-video to s-video or vga to vga a don´t have any problems.
When i connect s-video to s-video i have to choose in the nvidia view properties that i'm using the s-video output. In this panel there is also available the composite output but when i try to use the adapter this option and the nvidia view properties don't allow to choose anything.

Comments??
