Hello. This weekend I updated to 7.22.3 rev 42822 to try out the new LUTs in my visuals. But I am noticing some major issues with crashing and speed of loading. Which isn't present in 7.21.3.

My setup is I have OBS with a Spout plugin giving video to Resolume and then translating back to OBS.

On 7.22.3 rev 42822 - Compositions seem to load fast at first, but after a period of time or loading a number of compositions it begins to really stall and slow down. A 3 second composition load time will start taking 15 seconds or more. During this time resolume is highly volatile and susceptible to crashes. In a 2 hour work session I crashed 4 times

7.21.3 - I can load compositions up all day they are super fast and snappy and rarely ever crash if ever.

7.22.3 rev 42822 - The second issue is when it does crash the spout server is unrecoverable. Meaning I have to completely shut down OBS and then also restart Resolume for it to realize there is a spout connection coming in again. I absolutely cannot during a live show cut OBS to restart everything and the audio feed. (I even tested by inducing crashes, killing resolume in task manager while a project was loading to pinpoint)

7.21.3 - If for whatever reason resolume crashes I can restart resolume watch under sources Spout get restarted and pickup where I left off. Super easy.


To Diagnose I tried it on 7.22.2 as well and had the same issues. I tried updating Spout and OBS, NVidia drivers to the newest updates to ensure no compatibility issues.

All these problems I can easily repro but when I rolled back to 7.21.3 none of these issues existed again leading me to believe this is a resolume thing. I'd so really love to update and use some new LUT based visuals in my projects but I can't get past 7.21.3 with the current loading and recovery issues.

If I can help in anyway by creating videos or providing logs please let me know I'd love to update.

Could you please use the crash reporter dialog that pops up after the crash to submit a crash report?
That way we get lot more detailed information about what went wrong exactly.

I wanted to try the new 7.22.4.43686 Hot fix. I will say somethings improved (it crashes a bit less often) but I am still experiencing the same issues, resolume crashing after loading files randomly and once it does crash OBS no longer picks up Spout after. It requires a complete OBS and then Resolume shut down and restart, sometimes multiple times.

I can't grab a crash log as when it crashed this way it just freezes. Got some posted below

It does seem to be something with Spout and loading compositions over time.

I have the newest Spout and again don't experience these issues on any of the 7.21 versions and when it does crash it's easily recoverable. If Resolume crashes I can always open resolume again and have it read Spout without having to shutdown OBS mid set.

Also rolled back to 7.21 and this is working perfectly. Tried two different PCs... blegh same issues with the same versions on 7.22
