Strange Wire to Resolume behaviour.

I'm working on a Wire patch which has several presets.
I have a Resolume comp with that Wire patch across several clips, each displaying one of the presets.
If I rename one of the presets from Wire and save the patch (no other changes are made), this visually alters several of the clips that are in the Resolume comp, whether related to the name-changed preset or not, often creating a new visual that is not part of an existing preset but appears to combine several presets into one.
Not all of the clips in the Resolume comp are affected and the ones that are, are changed in strange ways that I can't even begin to apply any logic to.
I can't get my head around this, why does changing a preset name change anything at all in the Resolume comp?
