[FIXED] Failed reading prefference setting - ON START

Heyas.

Ive un-installed all traces of 2.4. including preferences.. everything.
I then Installed 2.41.
It works fine.

BUT when i paste in my PLUGINS / MASK / FLASH folders it boots up with this error :(

I always back up these folders and keep them up to date religiously. This way i have a quick startup when installing a new version.

Why would i have this "failed reading prefferences on start-up"?

I hate the idea of something in there not being compatible with this version... i definately dont have the time to trouble shoot what effect .dll is doing this !

seem to have worked it out.

I put 640x480 masks into the mask folder which caused this error.

Hi Dreamtk,
Strange that this caused the error, i'm gonna check wether this happens here as well. It supposed to work with bigger sized masks though, but suppossed says it all.

hi,
Update: i thought i encoountered this problem in the past and i was right, but i only fixed it for the transitions not the masks. Anyway, it's fixed now and i am able to load other resolution bitmaps without problems. It seems that the type of bitmap you use causes the problem and not the size. I'm not sure but the recent bitmaps i made with Photoshop seem to be causing errors.
