A/V Scratching

I know Resolume doesn't play back audio along with video clips and I can understand why the Res team aren't planning to implement this feature as getting layers of video to play back consistently is difficult enough, but I would really like to find some way of scratching A/V samples within resolume itself. I was thinking there might be a way of doing this with a freeframe source plugin, like whorld or feedback. Would it be possible to create a source that could import an A/V clip and play the video in through the layer hosting it and play the sound through the speakers. This way Resolume doesn't have to support audio natively and the plugin could interface with the internal audio mixing software possibly via ASIO drivers for flexibility and stability. The plugin could have its own playback head which could be controlled with a midi jog wheel independently of the layer's playback head, and have volume and opacity controls to simulate A/V crossfading. I have no idea if this even possible but I think it would be amazing. Just imagine scratching some George Bushism's with Wiimote!

Yeah it is totally possible for someone to write a freeframe source plug-in that plays a video with the audio. We will not do this but we know AV playback is becoming more and more important and we are not sitting around doing nothing ;-)

Nice to know it is possible at least. If I knew the first thing about software programming I would have a go myself, I reckon there would be alot of interest in adding audio playback and scratching to any freeframe compatible program. Nice cryptic clue aswell, I can't wait to find out what you're planning and from that cheeky wink I can tell it is going to rule!
