hi,
when I make avi files from photos in adobe after effects or adobe premier and compress them with suggested compressors, like microsoft avi and indeo video 5, the photos don't play smoothly in resolume, they are a bit bumpy. any suggestions? Is this because of photos, compressors, wrong programs for photo animation or it's a resolume thing??
thanks!!

its quite possible that they are not being animated smoothly. for instance, if it is moving total of 20 pixels over 30 frames, then its trying to move .66 pixels a frame, and as the software cant work on fractions of a pixel it will end up by some frames not moving or some frames doing more than the others to make up for it. (in this example it would be better to move 30 pixels in 30 frames)
always make sure the total amount of pixels moved divided by the total amount of frames in the animation equals a whole number.

And, if you just want to show the pictures, just go to the photos folder and drag all pictures to a single channel. It will be displayed like a slide show and you can set the play speed.

I've used that solution once fot a fast almost live pictureslide show,
but the ptroblem was that it wasn't keeping the pictures aspect ratio.
haven't used it lately is that problem solved?

hi gdlt,
the photos you are using must be converted to same resolution as your process resolution in resolume.

yes i know, but i think it's easier if resolume keeps the aspect ratio of the images (landscape and portrait).
If our photographer has made 100 pictures. I resize them with the pictureresizer tool from windows power tools. but the aspect ratio keeps the same. and i don't want to edit al these pictures one at the time...

You could batch process them in photoshop (or a similar program), over a black background in resolumes process resolution. Provided that you have sorted the pictures in at least 2 folders (landscape and portrait...)
Not sure if this is gives the apperance you want, just an easy fix...
