Hi,
I would suggest to chose a different processor type, like the Core2duo 7xxxx series or the new coreduo Santa Rosa and a laptop with e-sata interface to connect to a external HDD or in case the laptop doesn't have a e-sata interface one with a express card slot to put a e-sata card to connect to the external HDD.
There is some solutions in the market around 1000€ or little more.

what about the graphic card, its enough?.. resolume use or not use intensenly the video Card??.. i have another option, a laptop witn C2Duo 7100, 120Gb @ 5400 but with e-sata, and 128MB dedicated video memory (Ati Mobility Radeon X2300) how about this one?..

thanx 4 your help!!

Resolume at the moment does not use the videocard so much but this will change in the future! I,m not familiar with the Radeon X2300 but I think the Geforce Go 7600 is faster.

maybe you have a "bad" driver...
try another one, maybe the alternative omega drivers
