using still images

I have prepared a large number of still images resizing them to 640x480 80%jpeg to use in the mix (same size as my video clips)
is it better practice to covert the image sequence to a video file
or just drag multiple images to a clip...
also how many images (max) is it sensible to drag to a clip
being new and having lots to convert i just want the safest most stable method...
thanks... again - johnwhy

you don't specify by what method? did you add them to a clip or render them as a video file?

For best performance you should render your sequence to a video file.

Can you disolve between each still (if they're all loaded into one channel), or do they just jump from one to the other?

Yes you can:
Use a freeframe time effect on the images like "delay blend" or try one of the others.

I've tried myself to select and paste the photos into a single place in a deck and where to many photos and resolume didn't like it, so render in a video file so nothing goes wrong!

I use multiple stills in a channel quite often. Main lesson I've learned is to always have the same size of still and to keep them under 1024x768 in size.
