Resolume Arena 7.23.2 rev 51094 Crashes Hard on Every Lunch (MacOs)

Greetings,

I’m trying to launch Arena on my laptop, and it crashes hard every single time. It’s not even a normal crash, it takes the crash report window down with it when the process terminates.

So far I’ve reset the app preferences, reinstalled from a known-good DMG, de-authorized, and tried re-authorizing with my dongle, but it still crashes on every launch.

Any ideas what I should check next, or what to try from here?

PS: forgot to add it was working fine before part :)

Can you or did you already try ro or rename or move your resolume arena documents folder? Please do death and see if that makes any difference if so then you might have a broken composition or maybe a third-party plug-in that is not playing well.

I uninstalled and removed all the related files, but to be honest, I didn’t consider that the user files could be involved.

So yeah, renaming the folder and launching it worked.

PS: On further inspection, it looks like a corrupted server.xml was the culprit. I can replicate the issue by moving the file out of the folder and putting it back in.

It seems that if root=”…” points to a folder that no longer exists or isn’t accessible, it triggers the crash.

Could you maybe send that corrupted file to mail@resolume.com. So that the developers can have a look.
