Is this always the case?

Here's the workflow:
I insert a camera into a clip and leave everything as is.
I take the same camera and insert it into another clip, also on a different layer.
Only here do I adjust things like zoom, resolution, and maybe also tilt and pan.
However, the values in the first clip have also changed.
Is there a trick to prevent this?

Once capture source can be opened only once. Capture devices are opened when loading their clips, so you can trigger them and have them show the input instantly.
So, any instances of a capture clip you place into a deck have to connect to the same capture device. There can only be one input/resolution/etc. setting for them.
Any effects you place to the clips are per clip, you can use transform to zoom in, for example on one clip, and not the other.

Thank you for the detailed feedback.
That makes sense, actually. I was hoping it would be possible to clone the input with modified settings somehow.
Do you happen to know of a plugin that I could add to the clip alongside the camera to assign pan and tilt changes, for example? My idea is to be able to achieve different positions for my two movable cameras with different clips without having to use the camera remote.

For NDI cameras, we have absolute pan tilt, which is per clip setting.
What kid of cameras are you using?
Could you attach a screenshot of how the capture settings look in the clip panel?

Unfortunately, these aren't NDI cameras, just USB or HDMI converted via an adapter to USB.
I'm still out and about, so I can only take pictures later.
