[Question] How to use Manual Transition Fader with "Target: Active Layer" workflow? (v7.23.2)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently running Resolume Arena 7.23.2 with a specific workflow and I’m looking for some advice from the community.

My Workflow:

I have 33+ layers, but I primarily use Layer 1 for output.

All my clips are set to "Target: Active Layer" so they always trigger on Layer 1.

My Goal:
I want to preview a clip in the Preview Monitor first to check the content. Then, I want to transition it to the Composition (Active Layer / Layer 1) manually using a fader or slider.

The Challenge:

I want to control the transition speed and style in real-time using a fader (overlapping, quick cuts, or slow manual fades) depending on the music.

I need to do this while keeping the "Target: Active Layer" condition on Layer 1.

Essentially, I’m looking for a way to have a "Manual T-Bar" that bridges the Preview monitor and the Active Layer.

What I've tried/considered:

Setting the Layer Transition Duration to 0 and using Manual Mode (M) on the layer transition bar.

Creating a custom Mixer in Resolume Wire with a fader and take button.

Does anyone have experience with this specific setup? Are there any settings I might be missing, or perhaps a clever Wire patch that can handle this "Preview -> Manual Slide -> Active Layer" transition smoothly?

I’d appreciate any tips or insights!

Best regards,
