How to make clips follow BPM speed without sharing global beat phase?

I will try to illustrate with a potential application:

I have two one-shots of a rabbit hopping from one side of the screen to the other over four beats. I'd like to be able to launch each clip at a different time and have two rabbits jumping across the screen, chasing each other. I also want the speed of the rabbits to match the bpm, but I do not need them to be on-beat.

Currently, or at least in my setup, Resolume synchronizes all characteristics that have their value controlled by bpm. So it does not matter if I launch one of the rabbits half a beat or a beat later, the second clip will jump forward to the same point on the bpm sync bar. So instead of two rabbits chasing each other, I get two rabbits perfectly on top of each other.

It is possible to decouple the clips by setting each clip to timeline. This way the two clips can be at different points of their runtime, but this means that the clips no longer change their speed with bpm. If the music gets faster or slower, my rabbits will be chasing each other for a disproportionate amount of time.

Is it possible to create clips whose play-speed depends on the currently set bpm but who can run independently of each other?

Hi, this is definitely possible but there is a distinction that I need to make first. If you have a clip of the bunny going from left to right it is easily done, but if the bunny only moves because you for instance animated the position X parameter you have to do a step extra.

If you indeed animated a parameter on BPM, then that will cause the animation to always start at one. Then first render your clip at the general BPM you're using and drop that rendered clip back in.

In the clip transport, you can set your clip to BPM and by right clicking on your clip in the clip grid or clicking the little cock wheel in the right top corner of your clip panel you get a option for beat snap. There you can sit how you want your clip to behave on the beat and when it needs to start make sure you set that to none or you could also set your general composition to none in the composition file menu then all your clips will start wherever you click on it but they will still play in the correct BPM

Hope that helps you out if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you for your answer, and for considering the two different scenarios! In my application, I had indeed animated the rabbit by controlling a parameter.

Just to clarify, by render, you mean play the clip once while recording Resolume's output?

Edit: Ah! I now have also learned about the "Render To Clip" option! What an amazing feature.
