Organising VJ footage

Hey,
I've got a question concerning the organisation of video's.
We're making a lot of footage, it gets more and more. But we're having trouble organising all that stuff into folders and decks.
How do you guys do this? Do you add keywords to each file? Or do you put them directly in a folder? And what about updating your library, if you've got new footage?

I hope you can help me,
Thanks!

we use folders to orginise our content.

at the top level we have folders by theme or type and then we have subfolders in each by movie or city and put the content in there.

e.g vj/urban/perth or vj/urban/newyork

and we organise are decks in the same way, have a category for the top level folder and then each deck named after the subfolders.

hope that kind of makes sense :)

Yeah, that kinda makes sense!

But I kind of hoped you would say you could keyword all the files, and resolume automatically made keyword based decks, but that's just a dream I think.

Do any other vj's use other methods?
Thanks!

Yeah, it would be great, or even decks who automatically update per folder. Because now I found out how to keyword and automatically put files in fodler in MacosX :)
*Put the keywords in 'spotlight comments' and then create a smart folder*
