Audio output

Hello I'm fairly new to Resolume. It's not quite what Resolume is intended for but I'm looking to do a live video and audio mix to live speech for a drama. Since Resolume has no support for outputting audo I had an off-the-wall idea I want to throw out:
I remember when phono audio signal is plugged into a tv it displays the signal as a video- would it be possible to record an audio signal as a video that way then play it back and feed it into a mixing desk (without video effects)?
I expect there'd be a lot of compression and distortion, but would it work?
