A somewhat depressive mood is conveyed here... ;-)
It was a bit difficult to find the right blend modes for blending the live footage with the other clips. I used 50 add most of the time, but also 50 subtract, 50 burn, 50 overlay and 50 distance.

Hello everyone,

Can't wait to see more and learn from the Forum:)

Here is a link to a recording I did using Resolume Avenue. Criticism is gladly accepted as I have only been using Resolume for almost a year now. Everything is created through sources in Resolume except the 3D sculpted mask which was done using Nomad Sculpt for Android.

Hey all, finally finished my first project. Some transitions are better than others but it's about learning as we go right?

A new life for this old chromatrop from the end of the 19th century !

Chroma #01
Audio / Video : Pascal Labrouillere [ 09-2023 ]

Thanks Resolume for the new ProRes video export feature.
Video generated with a midi loop from FL Studio on the same PC.

I like your video a lot! it fits the music very well, and sometimes it looks like an old video game, very cool!

I made this video for the latest song of the band Moonbike using a wild mix of content:
- my own footage of a forest in the Czech Republic and of the corridor in front of my office
- lots of loops that were created by Micah Buzan https://patreon.com/MicahBuzan?utm_medi ... =join_link
- Resolume generators and effects and
- content that I created with AI tools like DALL-E and Runway.
I even used screenshots of Resolve's output and fed it into Runway again to expand and 'remix' the content.
The video even tells a kind of story... ;-)

Cool! How did you make the clip? It looks like stop-motion.

Hello Bonjour,
Thanks for your interest !

Stop motion ? not really.

Image

Here is the story :
A collection of old chromatropes, optical device used in magic lanterns, at the end of the19th century.
I filmed all this chromatropes in rotation, with transparancy, in front of a led light box.
And import this video collection in Resolume.
Stop motion, you said ? The first part is played using auto pilot Fonction on a layer.
After that, clip are played via external MIDI trigger, from FL Studio.
and here it is...

Image

I've also scanned chromatropes glasses seperatly.
A chromatrope is made of two painted glasses turning in inverse directions.
In my first videoclip CHROMA #01, Resolume is a perfect tool for recreating this, with control of rotation of each glass ( layer), and transparency between the 2 layers.

In this Chroma #A01 clip, I tried to experiment on this side, with audio FFT modulation on layer rotation speed...

A suivre...
