Resolume Forum

Although it doesn't officially meet the resolume specifications I've decided to try to run Resolume on asus eeePc 4G. With a 7inch display, vga out, 512RAM and a 900mhz cpu ( working at 650MHz ) and a price of only 250eur for the whole thing it seemed as mission impossible

The first problem was the resolution, the eeePC had a 800x480 panel and it was just not enough to fit the Resolume interface ( requires a minimum of 1027x768 ). The solution was in using a special driver witch would allow virtual resolutions of up to 1280x1024!

After sorting that out i crossed my fingers and started resolume ( from a flash drive ). It took 3 times the ususal startup time but at the end it worked without a glich mixing 3 videos at once.

Now, this was just a first run test, i will upgrade my ram, clock the cpu to factory 900mhz or even a bit more maby and test it with vga out... 'till then, post any comments and questions

must say I have a eeepc and that is amazing if you can get that to work on it. One thing I would suggest through is to watch when overclocking the processor if you over clock it to 900mhz it can lead to alot of overheating.

what was the name of the driver you used to get a higher resolution on screen?

There are step by step tutorials and everything and as for the "overclocking", whell you just upgrade the bios and the cpu works on 900mhz ( its factory speed ) so it is not overclocking technically. I found threads where they have burn-tested them as high as 1.2ghz

This makes resolume run in 1024x768 and even higher if needed with cpu @900 mhz ( without upgrading the bios ).

Can u use free frame effects without glitches? And what fotage resolution and codecs you use?

P.S. I think, it's must work fine bcs on dual core PCs resolume works perfect on one (1000-1500 mhz) core.

First of all Resolume does not konow how to use multiple cpus unfortunately so dual core does not enhance resolume performance but it can be usefull if youre using capture cards and secondly the eeePC has a singlecore mobile pentium, it does not support the dulacore architecture.

As for plugins, I haven't tried them, but since it works fine at 630 mhz and 3 layers, i think it will work good with plugins @ 900

what resolution and in which codec are the clips your running 3 layers with?
