Any advice would be appreciated.......

i'd like to buy a laptop 2nd hand as my desktop pc is huge (server size) and has loads of expansion cards etc etc. and i don't want to damage my pc.
basicly i want to have a smaller rig. I need a laptop to run resolume and nothing else. I'd probably install wk2 and strip it down to the bearbones. I'd plan to use a firewire drive, so i can disable networking etc and transfer stuff from my master pc to laptop via this. so what do you think the minimum spec would be? and any reccomendations as which graphics card is worth having, or should i go down the scanny route. i have a g450 on my desktop which is perfect for what i need. is there anything similar to this available on a laptop.

Cheers

well, don't buy a lappy as it will be outdated in few monthes, what i recommend you is to get a rack for a pc ( 350 euros),get a 2d hand p4 with his ram,one hdd, your matrox and you're done ! this is upgradable as you want and is really stronger as lappy !not relly cheaper but witha longer life !

we use a shuttleX pC (http://www.shuttleX.com)
It's a p4 1.8 with a matrox g550 - they're no more expensive than a basic PC, and are super portable (only you need a small monitor or LCD monitor to go with it)
