Resolume Forum

Hi.

I´m on a HP Pavilion dv2255br (core2duo+2GB RAM). It came with Vista but since it sucked soooo bad and was not able to play my older video loops I decided to downgrade to XP.

Resolume worked really well on my first attempt with SP2. But I had some issues elsewhere and had to format it again. And now I´m runnin' SP3.

Problem is when I start resolume it opens the splash screen normally. then the tabs appear on my taskbar. Sometimes the preview screen shows. But that´s about it. It freezes.

The strange thing comes when I right click on the tab and hit close. The resolume "really want to quit" box appears as if it was opened.

Sometimes I can manage to make it work by killing lots of tasks on the task manager but it´s a royal pain in the lower rear end of the human body.

Is there an issue with SP3+resolume (2.41)?
Could it be the video card?
Sum driver?

If anyone ever had problems with that please let me know. And if there's a sollution it would be a bless.

OK. One more update.

I managed to make resolume work properly by doing some strange moves:

Before I start it I right click on the shortcut > Properties > Compatibility (tab) and I check:

- Run in 640x480 screen resolution
- Disable visual themes

Then click ok and run resolume in this huge screen. It opens. I quit it. Back to the Compatibilities tab I uncheck only the Run in 640x480 screen resolution. Click ok again. And run resolume. It opens perfectly.

If I restart the system and try to start resolume without doing this marathon it freezes like before.

What in the name of michael jackson might be happening?

Try setting your displays to 16 bit in windows first and see it it will start then.
Do you have the latest Omega drivers insralled for your videocard?

I´ve tried that before but it didn´t work.

I´ll find out if there are some driver update for my card.
