Help! Problem recording clips in Resolume!

Please could someone out there help me to understand what on earth is going on when I record clips in Resolume.

I'm using the MJPEG compression codec to record DV footage clips. I set the speed of the clips to the tempo of the music and hit the record button. Immediately the clip jarrs and slows down, as if it is struggling to record the clip, but when I play the clip back, the speed of the clip is much faster than the speed I recorded it in?! I've tried all the different compressions, but MJPEG is the best compression to record in. The problem seems to occur when I record my DV footage. Furthermore, when I add effects onto the footage clips, this too affects the speed of the clips during recording.

Please could anyone put their thinking caps on and try and help me discover this conundrum!

Most obliged!

it sounds like its dropping frames, which i "think" is why when you play it back its fast.... because it hasnt recorded all the frames.

this could be because you are running dv footage whilst recording.... are the clips and the recording all happening from the same hard drive? ( try spreading it across more than one if possible ) also, what format are your clips you are playing?

Thank you so much for your prognosis, Doc! I think that's exactly what's happening - it can't keep up with all the hardrive processes as it starts recording, which in turn, drops frames, like you said. I'm trying to minimise the processes now - it seems to be helping. :D

Much appreciated for your input. ;)
