Does Resolume 3 record MIDI channel number?

Does Resolume 3 record the channel number when mapping MIDI notes and controllers?

It doesn't seem like it, unless I'm missing something.

It would be *very very very* useful if Resolume 3 recorded the MIDI channel when learning MIDI assignments (and even better if there was a wildcard option as well - ie either record the channel number, or respond to any channel, selectable by user)

This has the effect of multiplying the available number of MIDI notes and CCs by 16, and provides a nice clean way of mapping controls when driving Resolume from another program.

For example, on Resolume 2.41, I use MIDI channel 1 to trigger clips going to layer 1, channel 2 for layer 2, etc... I reserve channel 5 for control operations not related to clip triggering. It is very easy to switch the output MIDI channel from software (eg. Ableton) or from a MIDI controller, - much easier than re-assigning keys.

If Resolume 3 is *not* recording the MIDI channel, please please consider making it work like Res 2.41.

Hi,
Resolume should check the midi channel, but maybe you found a bug. When mapping MIDI you can see the MIDI channel listed of each shortcut in the mapping panel. Could you check if that channel is correct?

When assigning MIDI to a deck using direct mapping, I don't see the channel number listed - only the note and octave. However, I do notice that to the left of the note is a couple of pixels, that could be the right side of a channel number, cropped.

I'll do some more testing...
