cant click on interactive SWFs

This question is regarding swf files that have buttons and mouse controls built in.
When I load a swf and try to click on part of it in the preview window nothing happens. i see the link cursor flickr when i roll over a button, but i cant actually interact with the flash file. I have the clip set to flash mode so its not looping anything.

is this an error or are swfs not supposed to be clicked on in resolume?

Resolume 2 can only play a flash file, the interactivity is not spported.
