R3 crashes when changing decks during play

Hi
I tried R3 full version this weekend on a gig.
Everything was ok, only R3 crashes several times and only for one reason. When I was playing
3 layers and trying to change decks, it looks like it was too much for R3 or for my mac to load all
the videos in deck. The performance fps went really down at the moment of loading thumbnails.
And sometimes it crashed.

I dont know - maybe I have too big videos (using Motion Jpeg A on 75% compression)
I have to fix this more myself, but I am wondering if someone had the same problem.

I have 2.2Ghz Macbook pro GB Ram. 7200Rpm external maxtor on Fw400

And one thing I would love if you guys can add
- can we Change the Thumbnails of videos in Deck?
Some of my videos starts in fade in, and then its not fast recognizable :D
- Can we change order of layers that play and layers in deck for moving up or down - separately?

Ok - thats about it - and thanks again for great great great upgrade to version 3. Amazing.

Hi,

Did Resolume crash while switching decks or after switching decks and selecting a new clip?
Resolume opens all the clips when you change decks so that's why performance drops. But the trigger speed is much better because of this. So your computer works hard while switching decks and that's why performance will drop. But we will allways try to make it as fluent as possible.

- We take the thumbnails at 5% of the clip, so not the first frame. We are not planning to make this adjustable.
- What do you mean with your second comment, do you want the order of layers changed per deck?

Hi edwin
I thing it crashes after or while clips were loading. I will give it a try next time and let you know.
But it was no big deal - it crashes like 4-5 times in 11 hour gig, so it was not that bad.
I thing my clips are to heavy for it - some of them got 50-100MB so maybe thats problem.
And of course everyhing was from one HDD.

My second question about layers.
When I have this:

L1-PLAY /L1CLIP/L1CLIP . . .
L2-PLAY /L2CLIP/L2CLIP . . .

And I would like to do this
L1-PLAY /L2CLIP/L2CLIP
L2-PLAY /L1CLIP /L1CLIP
means order of clips playing stay, and I put up only clips from decks

but I am able only to switch whole line to this:
L2-PLAY /L2CLIP/L2CLIP . . .
L1-PLAY /L1CLIP/L1CLIP . . .

thank you very much

That's not too bad but we have fixed quite a few bugs since the beta release, we will release a second beta next week that is more stable.

No this is no problem, we use Avenue in a museum installation with long high resolution files that are 4-5 GB and it's running fine.
And I would like to do this
L1-PLAY /L2CLIP/L2CLIP
L2-PLAY /L1CLIP /L1CLIP
means order of clips playing stay, and I put up only clips from decks
If you want to do this you should set the Clip Target in the Composition menu to Active Layer. This way all the clips you play will go to the active layer. (the one with the bright yellow button)
