best video codec?

I have been having some problems with video footage in 2.41:
Other than PICVideo M-Jpeg which codecs/settings work best?
I tried using H.264 and CInepak in small resolutions (320x240, 640x480) as Punpaction Sunshine, the other VJ i work with has had good results with them in Motion Dive, but Resolume doesn't seem to like them
