is there a list of supported vst plug ins?

Hello, I recently tried out a couple VST plug ins. Some work, some don't, some make R3 crash. I was wondering if there is a list of supported plugins for R3 so I dont have to go trial and error or worry about one of them slowing down R3. Thanks.

No we do not have a list of working/not working plugins yet so please do post a list of your experiences here.

We knew from the start when we decided to support VST plugins that there would be some compatibility problems. Because there have been so many versions of the VST SDK and so many different plugins all VST hosts suffer from this unfortunately.

But we want to make it a good as possible so please let us know which ones work and which don't.

So i recently tried some more plug ins. I have the WaveArts suite and everything there seems to be working.
My friend, who has more plugs than me, was able and unable to use......

WORKING
1 amplitube and ampeg svx by ik multimedia ( although the gui doesnt work)
2 csr hall and csr room
3 spektral delay

NOT WORKING
1 effektrix- gui looks good , only master level and dry wet level work though
2 gtr rig- makes resolume crash upon opening
3 camelspace- doesnt show up

These are all windows.

Wavecandy from Imageline (Available in their "Juice Pack")

These peak meters are inserted on each layer with one on the composition acting as a master meter, they sit in front of your app whilst leaving Avenues GUI completely unaffected and fully accessible except for the area of the GUI they occupy, their placement, size, colour etc is all saved as a preset.

Avenue has an extreemly loud output +10 db or there abouts, because of this I'd recommend using a limiter/compressor on the last composition effects insert, Imageline have an excellent compressor/limiter called Maximus which will brick wall limit, it's very good and it runs well in Avenue and also offers transparent compression and mastering.

These vst's I've tested and know work a treat in Avenue rev1110.

Voxengo Boobex.

Voxengo Elephant.

Voxengo LF Punch.

Voxengo Lamp Thruster.

Voxengo Polysquasher.

Voxengo Soniformer.

Voxengo LF Max.

DB Audioware Sidechain Compressor.

Tone 2 Bi Filter.

Spaceman.

Mad Shifter.

Tapestop.

One of my favourite little vst's, Tape stop is free, you can download it from here:

http://hem.bredband.net/tbtaudio/archiv ... lugins.htm

A sample of Tapestop running in Avenue http://www.killalltraitors.co.uk/Tapestop.wav :geek:

I did find a few vst's that didn't run but they were mostly old out of date etc, other than that there was just the odd (minor) missing function.

One of the compressors worked really well, DB Audioware's Sidechain Compressor, it can sidechain up to six separate channels/signals all of which could be sent from either clip effect or layer effect inserts to inserts on the composition effects tab, it had no problem with routing, receiving and then sending sidechain compression data back to the send vst's, which I was impressed by, these kinds of multi channel compressors (multichannel not multiband) are really good for spreading varying levels of compression over multiple groups or parts. DB Audioware's Sidechain compressor sends compression data between six separate vst compressors that can be placed on any signal within Avenue.

Plogue Bidule works inside Resolume!

Plogue Bidule seems to work in Resolume under XP.

I say seems to - as it is a Live Patching Environment I'm sure its possible to crash it.

You have to close the GUI to get the parameters to work properly.

This is massive for all you Windows Audiophiles. Build your own audio fx + Loads More

Seb from Plogue says he's going to do a few alterations to get it to work with OS X.

** Just tested Wormhole 2 and that seems to work (XP again) - this offers a work around for recording from a mic into Resolume - got to work now but definitely have a play with that later!
