are these sites down? as they appear to be unaccessible. I imagine something serious has happened but obviously they would normally be the place I'd look to to find out if one disappeared but as both down I cant find out.
If its just me that cant see them it would be good to know, any news anyone?

story goes that the bill for the hosting was not paid in time and that the hosting provider deleted the whole account ... they are working to get the sites running again this weekend ... the bad thing is that they only have a backup that is a few weeks old.

Thought it must be the story as not immediately back online, I design sites commercially for blue chip companies and every time that its a forum or constantly changing content I tell clients to make backup of sites daily on either backup server they own, or mirror site on another isp. Still lucky we are all such nice guys and know that these things happen, and will just be glad to get back to eating, sleeping and breathing the debates that the forum allows.

"Server used to host vjcentral/vjforums/avit sites has been disconnected from the network several times over the weekend because it was being exploited to attack another server.
The precise method used to carry out this attack has not been determined, and every time it was reconnected, the attack happened again.
So its mostly a process of elimination unless the exact exploit is discovered.
It could be version of software on the server
Could be cod that makes vjcentral or vjforums work
etc
Therefore I have temporarily moved vjforums to a different server, and upgraded to the latest vjforums software. Its better than nothing, but vjcentral and avit sites are down.
I am very tired, so thats about it for now, there are multiple ways to go from here, but at least we can talk to eachother again now." - elbows
from vjcentral
its up and running atm but with a new look
