3rd Screen Preview?

Before I forget...
In R2 I have the control display on the laptop itself, the output over the s-video out to projector and a 6" LCD screen connected over USB/displaylink for a reasonably sized preview.
Is there (yet) any way to achieve this in R3 also? is this something planned for the future?
I've got got an old Matrox quad-dvi card and being able to have different outputs on each screen was remarkably useful for trying out ideas for installations...
Which in itself would suggest there's still a reason for using R2 over R3
