snap midi controller before change

Hi!
When assigning midi controls to "active layer", "active clip" etc. a snap-in midi control function would be nice. for example the current opacity of the (new) active layer is 75% - the assigned controller is at 15%. Moving the controller causes a jump of the opacity from 75% to 15%. I would like to first move the controller to the current value (15%), then snap the control and after that start changing the value. (Like the Edirol v-4 crossfader when controlled via MIDI.)
Would endless controller like the BCR2000 overcome this problem in Avenue?
