Scaling down losing resolution

Is anyone else noticing that when you scale down a clip, say to below 30% of it's original size, it starts aliasing/ loses resolution? Clips are 640 x 480 Photo Jpg at 75% quality. I have tried the same clips in other Arkaos GVJ with no such problem. The image stays crisp, if not crisper. Same thing goes for eg the Oval Fragment Effect......seems anything you want to scale down by any reasonable margin results in a poorly defined image.....anyone?

I've noticed the same thing and would love a solution to the problem!

Hey guys

Could you send us a clip that clearly shows this behaviour? That way we know exactly what we're looking for.

I would send you a clip, but *all* of my clips, when scaled below 100% in resolume, show aliasing, even if just slightly below 100%. It doesn't matter what kind of clip I throw in, whether it is a video clip or a graphic. Any solutions or ideas as to why this occurs would be very very fantastic.

When scaling down clips or images with fine line work, a certain loss of detail is always to be expected, simply because there is not enough resolution to display the pixels any more.

I did an AB comparison with a 640x480 png file in Avenue and GrandVJ both on 640x480. The image has been scaled down to 31%. Although there is indeed some difference, they are not that far apart.

If you feel there is a significant difference that goes beyond what can be expected from losing resolution, we'd love to take a closer look. Screenshots would help a lot though!

Strange that you would lose resolution after lowering the resolution
