Ableton Live/Res Toggle FX problem

I am trying to get FX in Live that have on/off switches to sync with the FX bypass switches in Resolume.

If I map a controller switch direct in Resolume it works fine. I can switch the Bypass switches on and off. If I then map the same controller to an FX on off switch in Live, when the effect is turned on in Live, it is turned off in Resolume and vice versa. Inverting the control in Resolume doesn't help.

Alternatively, as an attempt at a workaround, if I create a midi clip in Live which sends out a note to Res and map that to the Bypass, again this works fine. However if I then map the midi clip in Live to be triggered by the same controller that is switching the Live effect on and off, the Live mapping to the effect is dropped.

If I create a group to trigger the Live clip and map the group launch to the same controller as the effect on/off, the mapping stays put but for some reason you have to push the controller twice to launch the clip.....which then turns the Live effect on then off, resulting in the original situation above....i.e effect is on in Live but off in Resolume. Aggggggghhhhhh.

Has anyone else managed to find a way through this?

Thanks

Ok so I'm using a workaround with mapping the opacity sliders for all effects. Shame, because I can't toggle them on an off and have to program an envelope with a specific on/off duration. But at least it means I can "soft" record my av sets into Ableton and then tweak them before rendering.

Bart or Edwin - is there any performance hit on having the FX active but opacity at zero, rather than using the bypass?

Thanks

Actually this predefining of the FX envelope length is becoming a pain. Bart/Edwin are there any plans to address this issue?

Thanks guys

If an effect is set to zero opacity it isn't rendered, so it works the same as if it were bypassed. So no performance loss in that case.

Thanks Edwin.....but it still is limiting having to define FX envelope lengths in advance.....
