Hi All,
just wanting to know what type of codec/resolution settings people use with Resolume to gain best performance and quality.
Any suggestions that you have in mind.

resolume reccomend cinepak 320x240 15fps keyframe every 1 sec.

although many find the indeo or midivid codec to be quicker to render and better quality. this'll be determined by your pc etc etc

don't use a keyframe every second!

Use a keyframe every frame, otherwise scratching performance will be crap.

cinepak does cause loads of compression artifacts - indeo is much better.

cinepak only gives "compression" artefacts when you have very colourfull movies (as in lots of colors), since cinepak is only 256 colours. most of our clips use only few colours (most are based around 1 colour, duotone-like) and compressed using cinepak, 1 keyframe very frame. For videofootage with lots of colours we use indeo (mind you they do not ship indeo with XP SP1 or later! you'll have to buy the codec! :O )
cheers,
Martijn

Hi martijn - what do you use for non-colourful clips?
or do you set data rates?
