I'm planning on purchasing a system just for doing VJ stuff. Ideally, it will be portable, fast, and most importantly, ERROR FREE.

Can anyone recommend the absolute BEST system (OS, VIDEO HARDWARE, SYSTEM SPECS, ETC.) for a totally ass-kicking resolume setup?

OH, by the way, I will want to run RESOLUME with a MIDI controller...so a good MIDI interface would be good too.

if you want something portable your options are down to a high-end laptop ... make sure you buy on with at least a Feforce2Go videochip or preferably a ATi Mobility Radeon 7500 ... allthough we have not yet had the possibility to test resolume on this chip, it is supposed to be even fatser than the Geforce2Go!

the dell inspiron 8100 is very popular with vj's allthough a Sony vaio looks a LOT more sexy

but we seem to have some problems with a usb midi connection, that's a bit of a problem because most(if not all) laptops can only get their midi though usb ...
