Tons of Requests.

First off I'd like to say 4 huge thumbs up for R3! I'd like to state a couple wishes of mine though.
1- A function that limits the BPM to only integers.... or a fix for STEADY slaving to midi clock.
This would possibly enable midi clock sync to work. Right now the clock waivers when you try to slave it to Ableton to the point where it is unworkable. If the BPM could get "stuck" on an integer, maybe the sync would work? Right now this is a huge issue because we have to hit Resync in order to jam out which is not ideal.
2 Ability to relink files.
-If i move a file, it dissapears from an R3 set. It would be nice to be able to manually or automatically relink the file. Right now I am using an external hard drive to house all of my files. I really dont want to bring this particular hard drive on the road however. I think I am going to get a new drive for this. When i move the files over, this will destory all my R3 sets, correct? Is there a workaround?
3 Quantized cue points.
4 An ADSR function for beat repeat to get rid of those clicks and pops, just a slight fade would do it
5 To be able to load in clips and movies at once, I can load multiple movs, or aiffs, separate, but they come in a jumbled order, this would really speed up work flow.
6 R3 reads midi notes 3 octaves lower than ableton. I always add a plus 36 midi effect. Can c1 be read as c1 to make things easier?
7 Global control of parameters.... transport functions for example. I want to be able to select all the clips in a set and turn loop off sometimes, or other small tweaks. Ableton is good at selecting mutliple files and being able to change all of their volumes or pitch for example with one swoop.
8- a 4 screen plugin or effect
9 - A "delay" effect where the video floats away but is retriggered with every delay. In general, there could be more effects that the video mimics the audio. Maybe there could be a way to group "AV" effects. So instead of adding an Audio effect and then a video effect, then assigning the link knob, maybe there could be AV effects with already done for you.
10 Playhead control with midi/OSC
- I would love to "scratch" with the wimote or a fader. Am i missing something?
Keep up the good work! This is a great program which is a lot of fun work with. Thanks alot.

In the Resolume 3 feedback forum I've posted a small Max patch that smooths the MIDI clock from Live and sends it to Resolume via OSC. It seems the wobbly clock is a problem with Live and not Resolume?

You can relink your files by opening the composition file in a text editor and "search and replace" the new path of your video files.

This already works. Just midi map the playhead bar to your favorite midi controller. You can do this in layer midi map mode so that you can scratch the active clip in that layer.

Yes we had a look already, we couldn't find a way yet to get this more steady, but we will have another look.

Yes we are still looking into an elegant way to handle this issue. The only workaround is to edit the composition files and do a search replace (it's just xml). Another workaround is to make sure your harddrive has the same name and/or drive letter.

Yes, we don't want clicks and pops. On our todo-list.

You can drag multiple files, can you explain the problem you have some more.

Hmm, yes that's weird, but we can't just change it because it would break existing shorctuts.

Multiselect would be really nice indeed, but that is not as easy as it sounds. Not a priority but something we eventually have to get into.

Could you give some more details on what this plugin would do?

Presets which contain more effects would indeed be interesting.

If you pause a clip and then use a midi-controller it works.

I'm working on a patch right now (will finish in a day or so) that will let you select a layer, then set any of the clip parameters (direction, playmode, restart mode, opacity, scale, etc...) for all of the clips in that layer, which you can then save in the composition.

Hey Edwin, to make it clear.
8 Draggin in multiple files-
When I drag multiple files, no matter how I select them, they come in a scrambled order. Also, I would like to be able to load in a .mov and a .aiff at the same time and have them come in together, or more ideally tons of fiels at once
If there was a way to drag an .aiff that already exists in r3, "into" a .mov and combine them, that would help. Right now it is either "swap" places or replace.
9-a 4 screen plugin
The 4 screen plugin I was thinking of would split 4 mov's on different layers into 4 corners of the screen.
Right now I don't have an expensive video mixer. I do plan on getting one someday but for now it would be nice to get some of the benefits of having one. Not the visual effects because r3 has that covered, but some of the ways you can fade and move between your sources.
One of the more popular VJ groups I have seen is Eclectic Method. I like their uses of "Picture in Picture" , 4 screen, 2 screen, and slow movement of the "picture in picture". I think they use the expensive pioneer DVJ mixer.
It would nice to be able to hit one button and send 4 layers to different corners of the screen automatically. Kind of like the AB crossfader , there could be a ABDC crossfader too.
It would also be nice to have preset "movements' for your clips. So you could hit a button, and your full screen video could shrink and move at the same time, and then fade out, or other movements like this This is probably something I could do with a dummy clip in ableton but it would be nice to have a lot of presets to do this inside of resolume. Thanks alot.

the 4 screen thing is possible with the basic Anchor/Position parameters in Resolume Avenue.
Make a i.e. 640x480 composition and use 4 layers with 320x240 clips.
Use the layer parameters to move these layers around the composition.
Of course you could also use other size composition and clips and use the "scale" parameter and scale/position all layers to fit wherever in the composition

I think sburke1 is talking about a 4up effect. Where the same video clip is mirrored 4 times. Is that correct??
I always like the old film strip free fame effect where you could tile a video clip, but each tile would display a different frame of the video. Like on long film strip!

Hmm, they shouldn't be scrambled. They should be in the order you selected them, are you sure, i just tested this and the order looks fine. Could you describe the steps you take, it seems straightforward but i can't seem to get them scrambled.
Also the following should be helpfull to you.
Select a few movs and load them into the first clips, then select a few aiff's and drop them on the same location. The aiff's are added to the already present movs. If a clip does not contain an audio track and you drag an audio file on it they will be merged, the same is true vice versa.

Hold Shift when dragging to merge.
