remaining midi-mapping for effect

hello,
I am playing a lot with my midi controller (UC33e) atm - and noticed that the more knobs / fader / buttons I assign to certain effects the more effects are 'loaded' / 'working' at the same time - so I had the idea to just load the effect I want to use when I need it - but the midi mapping is not saved, so I'd have to remap everything (which is in a live performance not really possible).
any ideas / workflows how you manage to work with lots of effects + midi controller?
