Custom mapping curve for parameters

Hi,

Not sure if the title is clear: currently when we assign a parameter (e.g. opacity) to "source" (e.g. BPM sync) the relation is linear (i.e. as the beat goes on, the opacity linearly increase).

I think it would be über-nice to be able to assign another relation in between "source" and parameter. Ultimately this could be "any curve" (for instance defined by the user in small popup using splines), but a first choice of a few curves would be very nice to begin with: linear, exp, bell shaped, step (0% then 100%), etc.

Choosing the "step" curve to map BMP sync with opacity for instance would replace the "bounce mode" found in Resolume 2.4, but the other curves would add much more creative possibilities.

Any comments?

Yes, this is on our todo for the future. It can certeinly add some swing to the parameter animation.

Hi Bart et al.

Any update regarding some new "parameters curve".

I am still really missing the famous "bounce mode" that was so cool in 2.41...

I still did not found a way to mimic it in Avenue...

Thanks in advance for your reply.

We'll be adding a few more parameter animation options in the next version of Resolume. For now though, you could look into the IR OSC SA plugins (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7014), which provide a lot more flexibility for animating parameters. It's sort of like placing keyframes via OSC.

Hi goto10,

thanks for pointing me to this nice OSC stuff.

It does the bounce trick indeed, and much more of course.

Big up to IR by the way, that's a nice addition to Avenue.
