Has anyone else found this? All my VFX presets have been erased, perhaps by a more recent installation of R3 (probalby a test beta).

Has anyone else found this?

Could installations either leave the XML files alone, or create backup copies if it needs to create a new version?

hmm i,ll do some more testing on this, the instrallers should not overwrite the presets. are u using mac or pc?

XP Pro SP3 ...

Was able to recover my presets from an old backup.

Yeah, I aked this question weeks ago and got no answer. I am really glad you were able to retrieve your settings. I had no idea that I risked losing all of these presets, and did not back them up. Plus, on windows, they are hidden deep in a folder, with no indication from Resolume that they should be backed up.

I'm trying to reproduce this but found that the installer nor Resolume overwrites any effetct preset files.

Did you perhaps un-install resolume before installing a newer version?

Un-installing Resolume will indeed remove all presets.

I did not uninstall Resolume, but lost many, but not all the presets.

Could you all zip the folder with the presets, email it to us and let us know which presets have been lost? Perhaps the preset files are still there but is the xml corrupted.

MAC: /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Resolume Avenue 3/presets/vfx/
PC: /Documents and Settings/[username]/Application Data/Resolume Avenue 3/presets/vfx/

From memory I tend to install the new version first, and then remove older versions.

hmm yeah that would remove the presets eventhough you want to keep them, I,ll fix this.

I have recently restored the presets from a backup, so I don't have the newer ones to hand.
