Audio BPM sync possible?

Hello,

I am evaluating Resolume 3 at the moment. There is a feature I could not spot:

Is it possible to use the DJ's BPM via my notebook's mic and use it as a synchronizing tool to permanently adjust the overall BPM of the composition?

Thank you.
Nexo

not with Avenue on its own. you can analyse the audio using an FFT to control parameters or use a manual tap tempo for the BPM, but you cant extract the BPM from the audio.

You could however use something like the Redsound units and send midi clock from it to Avenue.

You can extract BMP from audio with a Kaoss pad AUTO BPM Funtion, in the middle ยท and send midi Signals to Resolume via USB or Midi cable!!!!

hi! my first post..
i was wondering about this function too, and found myself that you can use visualjockey (pc freeware) on the same computer to analyze the audio and send a note on the beat to the resolume TAP thru midiox, works very well and is quite simple to setup!|if you need some help just ask

@Sapo

with the same idea you have Audioboxbaby, it will analyse audio and puts out a midi note on beats, and i did like you, put it thru midi-ox to clean up and only keep note on messages but, :? , i must my stupid, i'm unable to map this up to Avenue's tap button (or even Ableton Live, so it must be me). Is there anything special to know?

It seems to reconize a midi note message (C-1), but i cant get it to tap ????? i tried application and compostion positions of course....

i have the same problem with audiobox :(
in resolume 2.41 it works perfect...
in the map mode in r3 it seems to work also, i can see the "taps", but it's simply not tapping :(

maybe there is another tool that has midi in and generates a midi clock through tapping? would be very messy but why not!? maybe ableton?

and i also tried vjo, but did't get it to send out the midi clock signal from vjo

maybe anyone has figured a way out till now and can post a tutorial?

manual tapping is better anyway otherwise your playback will be very jerky as resolume will be constantly changing the BPM and thus the amount of stretching.

i watched the tool and must say on slower techno it's very exact!

on dnb it often switches from 180 to 90 bpm for example... which wouldnt matter most times!
