Resolume Forum

Hi I am wanting to buy Resolume 3, and currently learning how to use it with the trial.

I am the special effects tech for an oldies group in Florida called 24k Gold Music Shows.

My question, before I buy Resolume is, will it play an H.264 format, if so what codecs do I need?

I am currently using Presenter 4, and although it is not a bad program it doesn't do everything I need it to. Resolume does, but I don't want to buy it and find out it doesn't play the video.

I am currently using the Matrox Triplehead2go Digital, with three Projectors, and the resolution is 3840x1024, and that's what my output resolution when I am using After Effects, does Resolume play this resolution?

Resolume 3 is one of the many upgrades I hope to make for our shows, I also hope to obtain another video card and Crossfire them in order that I may make use of 6 projectors eventually.

Any help and thoughts would be appreciated.

In general H264 content should play fine as long as you have the H264 codec installed. In general we recommend against using it, (a search on this forum for H264 should yield plenty of results) but if you are using it without any issues, who are we to say you can't

Overall Resolume Avenue should be able to do all the things you mention in your post. The demo/trial that can be downloaded for free from our website is fully functional, and only limited by a watermark on the audio and video output. You should be able to do all your testing with it.
