I'm novice and I have got some questions:

1. I've got 3 partitions on my hard drive (first for OS - ntfs, second for temp and downloads - fat16, because it's difficult to fragmentation and last one for animations - fat32). Tell me, please: "Does NTFS has really quicker access to files? Shall I convert my 3th partition with animations to NTFS?"

2. What do you do, when computer crash and you must restart Windows? (It's not proffesional when people see your desktop and launching Resolume). Changing brightness of the projector to low by remote pilot and when all is good, return to normal brightness? It's not bad idea :)

3. Does anyone have some kind of timer (stoper)?

Thank You very much... 8-)

Depends on your g-card, with matrox 550 and some others you get dvmax enabler and in case it crashed all they see is your extended desktop get a black background and nobody will see it.....

NTFS is as fast as FAT32, or in some points a bit faster in other slower. But NTFS is more stable. Last night may girlfriends HD FAT32 partition crashed, cause the FAT couldn't be found.... And this will not happen so fast with NTFS, it's much safer... or had you ever had an automatic scandisk-task at your NTFS-partition? ...

in a case of a crash try to switch the beamer to another input... an empty one....

Resolume is only one of the tools in my setup, I run it into a Videonic MX1 and send the output of that to my projector... Then if something ever goes wrong, I can cut to a logo loop that I've got on DVD or to a live camera feed that is plugged into the mixer.

at my computer i assigned a boot logo so if the computer crashes the people only will see this and after windows started they can see the same, cause its my background image

i can start resolume again and nobody could see something like my operation system

i am using fat32 and have no difficulties, the one advantage of fat32 is i think i heard about it that it still keeps stable even if the disc gets full when using ntfs u have keep 15% of disk free to get full performance

what kind of timer to your mean??

I mean... I don't know what is in english... For example: on party play lots of DJ's and each of them has 20 min to play... I must count this 20 min and people must see this ... in flash or avi ....
It's a timer or stoper ... counting timer .. .:))

Not sure if this is the easiest, but if you start a new project in flash, and set it to X number of frames a second, and make your countdown change numbers every X frames, then that ought to be pretty close to what you're looking for. Say, like, you set your project to 1 frame per second, and then make a frame for 20:00, 19:59, 19:58 etc

try looking up a little actionscript.
If you're clever enough you can even use the utility to adjust the text in a movie to change the number of minutes (seconds, days, you name it) to countdown. :)
Should be really simple, only two frames needed, no matter what framerate.
Come to think of it, you MUST use action script, since the framerate is not very precise in resolume, you can even change it!!! ...

I may try to fix you up with something, BUT flash is one of my worst enemies, I HATE TO WORK WITH IT (but one can make some dang usefull tools and animations with it...)
