Look what I have found...
So...
I will admit to having a test machine running Win7, which I'm actually quite impressed with (bypassed Vista for all the known reasons).
Now, installing Avenue on it to see how well it compares to XP, I've discovered this whole palaver about Microsoft including Quicktime components so that quicktime itself doesn't need to be installed...
What this means is, that none of my DXV encloded clips (ie *all of them*) aren't going to run, therefore making Win7 currently a bit of a dodo - installing the DXV codec 'as is' isn't helping.
Has anyone else discovered this and are there likely to be any workarounds? or is the 'all new' version of Windows going to mean the end of actually being able to use the DXV codec on new systems?..

Installed QuicktimeAlt 1.81 (that version because of a posting about importing AVC from a Xacti camera into Vegas for editing, which I have to do for a wedding video!).
Installed the DXV codec using its own installer.
Copied:
C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\DXVWindows.qtx
to
C:\Program Files\QuickTime Alternative\QTSystem\
Started up Avenue, and lo and behold, it shows my clips with thumbnails.

Not sure if the compositions will transfer, but it's a start!
I have the same problem as u described. I have instaled QuicktimeAlt 1.81 (for MPEGstreamcli) instaled DVX codec and files rendered with DVX are not working... Not in avenue not in QT... Was the trick u did enough... Please help.
