Translucent Video Screens

Hi everyone!! It's my first post here... cheers!

I'm looking to do live projections for the band InTransit Audio (www.intransitaudio.com) what I'd like to do is have a screen that sits between the band and audience. The projections will come from the audience side, if there is no backlighting on the band the screen holds a perfect picture with no view of the band behind. If i turn up the backlighting on the band the screen will become more translucent and it'll be possible to see the guys behind.

I've seen this kind of setup before in a Sigur Ros video and a few other places so I know it's possible.

Suggestions??

Ive used a lightweight fabric that we call 'scrim' in the film/theater business... i dont know what the material actually is though.

check out a fabric supply store, tell them what you need, and they might be able to make a suggestion for you.
